The Bioenergy Network of Excellence hosted its final seminar in central Brussels, Belgium on November 2nd and 3rd. NoE researchers travelled from 8 partner countries for the two day event.

Over the past six years, this annual researchers meeting has proved to be a huge success among Work Package Leaders, Board Members and researchers alike, and the 2009 meeting was no exception.

On the first day of the meeting presentations were given by a number of key external speakers including representatives from the European Commission and the energy industry sector. This was followed by a roundtable which contained topical discussions regarding bioenergy.

Status and opportunity updates were then given by each of the IA leaders regarding agroenergy, renewable electricity, biofuels and the environment.

On the second day of the meeting a series of interesting presentations were given by JER (Jointly Executed Research) leaders and researchers regarding shared progress on bioenergy research projects.
